"Walking into this restaurant again after so many years was incredibly special for me. I used to come here often with my dad when I was a little girl, as we lived in the neighborhood behind, and I hadn’t been back since 2012, when he passed away. I’m so glad I finally returned. The moment I walked in, it felt like stepping back in time in the best possible way. So much of this place has stayed the same, and that sense of familiarity is deeply comforting in a world where everything is constantly changing. It truly feels like home. What made the experience even more meaningful was seeing the owner (Im assuming he is) walking around, genuinely talking with regulars. That kind of care, connection, and community is rare and speaks volumes about the heart behind this place. Thank you for preserving not just a restaurant, but a space filled with memories, warmth, and a true sense of belonging. I’ll always be grateful for what this place represents. I’ll definitely be back and hope to make this a regular spot again—creating new memories while honoring the old ones."

"Breakfast here is the best we have seen as we cris-cross the country. The over medium eggs were perfect, all the white cooked but the yoke still runny but cooked. All the eggs were beautiful, not over cooked or brown from meat grease. Generous portions, good prices, fantastic coffee and quick, friendly service round out this great restaurant."

"The food is so good. Best blueberry pancakes I have ever had. Everything is cooked right and fast. From ordering to eating was less than 10 minutes. The biscuits are soft and fluffy, like delicious little pillows. The gravy is savory and doesn't break down like some gravies do. Chicken fried steak is perfectly cooked, tender enough to cut with a fork. And the homefries are crispy and well seasoned. Definitely my new favorite breakfast spot. We'll be back."

"The first impression when you walk inside if you're of an age to remember, the show is Mel's diner or Wings. Everything is homemade from the biscuits to the bread to the pies. They even have cinnamon rolls that are homemade. It reminds me of those mom and pop diners five and diners. I didn't try the muffins but the banana bread was wonderful and the cinnamon rolls were great. So we're definitely going back to try the homemade pies and the homemade muffins and brunch was amazing. You definitely get your money's worth because even though I ordered a two egg breakfast I know I got more than two eggs as you can see from my plate that I took a picture of. My server was very nice and personable just like they were 20 years ago. Everybody talks to you. It's wonderful. It's like stepping back in time. This is now my favorite place to have breakfast or lunch. I love it."

"This is a great breakfast spot with a friendly neighborhood charm. My daughter couldn't wait to bring me here. The food is very good and the portions are generous. I had the chicken fried chicken with scrambled eggs and added a blueberry pancake. We also ordered bacon, cheesy eggs, and the biscuit and gravy. Everything was good and the service was great. They kept my cup filled with hot coffee literally from the moment we sat down. (I thought the coffee was free, for that reason, but it's actually $3 a cup.) I didn't sample any of the pies, but they boast that they have the world's best pies."

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a wonderful experience at Bread and Butter Cafe, and Connie truly made it exceptional. Her customer service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming from start to finish—she made us feel like regulars even on our first visit. The food was outstanding, fresh, and clearly made with care, but the highlight was the rhubarb pie. It was absolutely incredible—perfectly balanced between sweet and tart with a flaky, delicious crust. Connie’s recommendations were spot on, and her friendly attitude elevated the entire meal. We’ll definitely be back, especially for that rhubarb pie!"

"I usually stop for breakfast. Good solid , breakfasts, excellent biscuits and gravy, pancakes and my favorite, the breakfast special of 2 eggs to order, hash brown or home fried potatoes and choice of toast, but only served until 10. Down side like all Tucson resturaunts, is breakfast prices are getting out of hand, so what used to be 3 days a week or more, it's once a week or every 2 weeks. Coffee is not worth the price anymore either, nor soft drinks. But thats everywhere except McDonads. But stop in and give them a try, especially for breakfast, the foods good!"
